The national umbrella
SNI owns the shared public narrative, programme architecture and proposed coordination framework. It should maintain an initiative register, common participation guidance and a clear distinction between a focus area, a programme being designed and a service in active use. The umbrella is not a replacement for the operational identity of each initiative.
National sector initiatives
SENI translates SNI’s direction into education-specific objectives, eight programme components, institutional preparation and participation pathways. Other national sector initiatives should be named and launched only after their scope, ownership, resources and support are defined. A website focus area is not evidence of an operational programme.
State initiatives and sector alignment
Smart Benue Initiative is the Benue state reference. BenSEP sits within Smart Benue and provides the education pathway in Benue. Its relationship with SENI connects education standards and learning across the national and state levels while retaining the state programme’s local identity and responsibilities. Smart Benue’s existing relationship with Innovate Benue and CIE Benue remains visible.
Brand and web structure
Use sni.ng for the umbrella and education.sni.ng for SENI. Future sector subdomains should be reserved through an agreed register rather than published prematurely. SENI should display “An initiative of Smart Nigeria Initiative” with a link to SNI. State programme websites should explain their local umbrella and relevant sector relationship without obscuring either.
